The History
Noteworthy is ...
... the (mostly harmonious😊) 3-part singing and the (pre-dominantly😊) playing to the beat instrumentation with guitar, bass, drums, fiddle and flute.
The repertoire includes newly prepared (and thoroughly recognisable😊) traditionals and cover versions of well-known folk rockers. Every now and then an (occasionally flawlessly played😊) instrumental in between.

A small Gallic village ...
We are not in the year 50 BC and France is not occupied by the Romans. Our story began in 2022, when 3 musicians looking for 1 bass player and 1 drummer met 2 musicians, 1 bass player and 1 drummer, looking for singers, a guitarist, a fiddler and a flautist, met in the small French village of Lobsann and decided to make music together.

Harald "Taylor" Fuchs
(lead vocals, guitar)
The song thrush* of fiddlestix! Easily recognisable by the Taylor guitar that is always strapped on.
*Wikipedia: The song of the song thrush consists of most-ly multi-syllabic, clearly sep-arated elements, which are characteristically repeated two to three times (some-times more). The repertoire of individual elements is quite large and can be very variable. They can be flute-like, chirping or croaking. Overall, the song is usually quite melodic. A song thrush sometimes sings for up to 50 minutes.
The mating song is quieter and less flute-like ... well, that doesn't belong here.

Eva "Wood" Schürmann
(lead vocals, flute)
The nightingale* of fiddlestix! can fortunately be heard singing and playing the flute not only during the night. Her main challenge is to have the right flute in her hands and mouth at the right time.
*NABU: The so-called whistling verses are particularly typical: Here, the nightingale performs an often long series of stretched, pure whistling notes, which can have a soft, wistful character and are sometimes perceived as lameting (‘sobbing’). The volume and tempo are often increased.

André "Low Bro" Dubs
(bass)
The bass player of fiddlestix! has an invisible but audible friendship with every single string - deep, warm and unagitated, but always present.
The folk bass player is the true hero of the band – after all, it takes someone with the courage to play the same thing for hours on end so that the others can lay their wild melodies over it.
Didier "Katché" Renaudet
(drums)
He has the honourable task at fiddlestix! of making sure that everyone starts and stops at the same time and stays in time in between.
Not only does he play a drum kit co-developed by Manu Katché, they are also similar in other ways: they both wear glasses.
If he were to play in Asterix & Obelix, the name ‘Automatix’ would be fitting.

Monika "Fiddy" Fuchs
(fiddle, backing vocals)
Contributes to the band name fiddlestix! with her instrument and works off an incredible number of small black dots - also known as notes. That’s how the ‘fiddlestick’ smokes.
Thankfully, she stays in the background when singing.
